Sully Challenger
The Challenger division was established in 1989 as a separate division of Little League Baseball to enable boys and girls with physical and mental disabilities to enjoy the game of baseball along with the millions of other children who participate in this sport worldwide.
Everyone gets a chance to play, regardless of limitations or ability. Each player gets a chance to bat. The side is retired when the offense has batted through. The Little League Challenger division is for ages 4-18, and can still accept a player up to 22 years of age, provided the player is still enrolled in a school program. In addition, Little League is offering a Senior Challenger Division, for players ages 15 and up. There is no age limitation for the Senior Challenger Division. Players who are ages 15-18 may register and play in either the Little League or Senior Challenger division.
The Challenger program provides disabled children an opportunity to participate in America's Pastime, have fun and take part in a sport they would otherwise not have an opportunity to play. Challenger baseball fosters teamwork, self-esteem and social skills and lets kids experience how it feels to be cheered and earn awards for their achievements.
Sully Challengers represents both the Chantilly and Southwestern Youth Associations, providing quality baseball for our area youth. The feedback we get from parents and players is very positive and the attitude of the kids is infectious. Our season starts in early April and we would love to have you join us. We play Friday afternoons between 6pm and 7:30pm at Chantilly Park on Stringfellow Road (across the street from Chantilly High School).
